Heart-to-Heart Campaign

Heart-to-Heart

YMHC launched a nationwide "Heart to Heart" campaign in January 2024.

Knit, sew, or crochet hearts and connect with local schools and community organizations through the Heart Registry at hearts.ymhc.ngo.

We hope that schools will create peer support teams and send hearts with messages of support to students who are absent from school due to mental health challenges. For too long, we have remained silent when a student is struggling with their mental health and not able to access and manage an education. "Out of sight, out of mind" is no longer.

We need the support of schools to communicate this message to students. Schools can request hearts and messages of support through the registry.

There are many ways that people can contribute to youth mental health support, change, and action. We hope that this campaign will become a national campaign to support people of all ages.

  • Send My Hearts

Send your lovingly knitted, sewn, or crocheted hearts through the Heart Registry. Be a part of the Sewing Hope Project and help us spread messages of support and love.

  • Request Hearts

Need a heart full of hope and support? Connect with a Heart Maker in your chapter for a handmade heart accompanied by a message of support. Let us help you find a symbol of community love and care.

Getting Started on the Heart Registry

Create Your Account — Sign up for a free account at hearts.ymhc.ngo.

Select Your Chapter — Go to Chapter Settings and choose your local chapter to connect with people and organizations near you.

Complete Your Profile — Fill out your profile fully. A completed profile is what makes you visible to others on the registry.

Choose Your Role — Select Heart Maker if you make hearts and want to donate to a local organization (in your chapter or beyond), or select Organization if you're a school or community group looking to receive hearts. You can select one role or both.

Once your profile is complete, it will be made publicly available on the registry for all logged-in users to see.
