2025 Monthly Workshop: School-Wide Strategies for Supporting Students with School Absenteeism Issues

Join YMHC for an interactive online workshop focused on addressing chronic school absenteeism through evidence-based school-wide strategies. Led by an experienced educator and mental health expert with 20+ years specializing in school attendance issues, this session will equip education and mental health professionals with practical tools and approaches for supporting students struggling with attendance.

Participants receive two valuable photocopiable resources: a comprehensive guidebook on supporting students with school phobia and a student workbook on school experiences. Both resources incorporate upstream prevention approaches and the multi-tiered system of support.

“There comes a point where we need to stop just pulling people out of the river. We need to go upstream and find out why they’re falling in.”― Desmond Tutu

The Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework is a three-tiered safety net, ensuring that every student’s needs are met. Starting with foundational, universal supports and scaling up to early intervention and highly personalized interventions, MTSS empowers educators to respond proactively and equitably.
