What we do….

Youth Mental Health Canada is a registered charity that is focused on education, advocacy and support for youth mental health change. We provide a variety of online platforms, school and community supports, media and print resources and methods for supporting students with mental health challenges and disabilities and their families and encouraging greater discussion of youth mental health issues and needs.

Purpose of YMHC (as stated in CRA documents):

The Corporation will be a non-profit organization dedicated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The proposed directors of the Corporation believe that societal education is required to have a lasting impact on youth mental health reality, change and action. The Purpose of the Corporation will be to provide educational outreach and support on youth mental health issues to affected and at-risk youth and their families.

Board Member Commitment…

This volunteer position of a one year term involves providing leadership and strategic direction to our newly registered non-profit organization. By bringing your perspective to the table, Board members have an opportunity to directly impact the lives of youth across Canada and beyond.

Expectations for Board members are…

  • To attend Board meetings: in person(GTA residents) or via teleconference at regular periods throughout the year
  • To contribute an additional 2 hours per month to various fundraising efforts
  • To promote Youth Mental Health Canada within your own networks whenever possible
